TaskNest stores data locally on your device. We do not require an account and do not use your task content for ad targeting.
Task titles, notes, priority, due dates, and reminders are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. App settings (theme, language, reminder toggle) are also kept on device. Data does not leave the device unless you export a JSON backup.
On Android, when you tap Export JSON in Settings, TaskNest writes a backup file to the system Downloads folder (e.g. tasknest_export_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.json). You may delete these files in your file manager at any time. Import lets you pick a JSON file from your device (merge or replace). There is no limit on active (incomplete) tasks.
You can edit or delete tasks anytime, or export/import JSON backups. Uninstalling the app removes all tasks and settings from your device. We do not keep a cloud copy for you.
Voice controls appear in the task form only when speech is available on your device. Microphone access is requested when you use voice input.
How to use: tap the mic to start; the session auto-stops about 3 seconds after you stop speaking, or tap again to stop early. The on-screen text while speaking is a live preview and may be incomplete; the final result is applied when the session ends. Each voice input is one recognition session (one Baidu API call on mainland China Android).

Audio is processed by the respective provider under their privacy policies. TaskNest does not operate a backend to store voice recordings.
Today and Plan tabs may show a Google AdMob banner. Ads may use your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID) for personalized or non-personalized ads. We do not use your task titles, notes, or other task content for ad targeting.

Done and Settings tabs do not show ads.

TaskNest is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The in-app privacy policy reflects the latest version. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
